Do Salons And Spas Need A Makeover On Facebook?

Spas and salons haven’t embraced Facebook pages with the kind of fervor that other industries have. The situation begs one of those chicken-and-egg questions:  Does lackluster activity on this genre of page keep other practitioners away from the site or vice versa?

Tennessee Football Coach Busted For Facebook Posting

Crime and Facebook

Well, the title in itself would have conveyed the meaning and just as it reads, crime is something that can be committed and traced throught Facebook. Though the social networking website has helped cops crack several criminal cases and reopen several which were once considered dead and closed, the fact that the social networking site would help criminals too is something that needs to be given a thought about. Owing to its popularity and the large number of members in it, criminals find it a very convenient place to start off their next burglary operation.

Philadelphia Community Misidentifies Killer On Facebook

Well-meaning vigilantes circulated postings on Facebook misidentifying a serial killer in Philadelphia.

Local police became aware of the misinformation after the community rallied around the wrong individual’s house last night, calling him the “Kensington strangler.”

The misidentified man fled his home during last night’s confrontation, and asked the local police for help, ABC News said.

After Critiquing Facebook, Google Researcher Paul Adams Joins It

Paul Adams, the Google user experience researcher who critiqued Facebook in a lengthy report over the summer, is leaving the search giant to join them. His report is said to have accelerated the Groups product, which launched earlier this fall after Facebook went into “Lockdown” to finish it.
